Itching to put your tap shoes on before the summer is over? then sign-up for a Tap Workshop with Louisa. If you liked her routine in the Farnham Dance ‘Curtain Up’ show, then come along to a one off class. She will be teaching American style tap dance with technical exercises and a routine. Please bring your tap shoes (or trainers if you do not have any) and wear appropriate dance clothing (Farnham Dance uniform is not required for this class).
A bit about myself:
For those of you who don’t know me…
My background in tap dance really started in 2007 when I was in Billy Elliot the West End Musical for a year. Here I learnt fast paced and intricate Musial Theatre tap dancing.
From this I was fortunate enough to be accepted into ‘TapAttack’, a youth company, who represent the UK at the World Tap Dance Championships. I was ranked 9th Best Adult Female Tap Dancer in the world, in 2012. This was thanks to the intense training and incredible teachers I had and it started my love and passion for American Tap.
It is far more grounded, heavy and rhythmic, in comparison to the “traditional” ISTD style. These experiences opened my eyes to a whole new, contemporary and exciting style of tap dance.
My aim in these workshops are to share with you what I have learnt in previous years, and teach you routines and exercises that will introduce you to a whole new and exciting style of tap dance.
